Can you sharpen the cutting edges of a pair of pliers?

We do not recommend sharpening the cutting edges of our pliers for two reasons. Sharpening the cutting surface can reduce the dimensions of the cutting edges causing them to become thinner and less capable of cutting smaller surfaces. Sharpening the cutting surface could possibly reduce the hardness of the edge and make it brittle.
